Petite Maternity

If you have ever tried purchasing petite clothing you may understand the frustrations petite women feel when trying to purchase stylish, trendy clothing for their petite frames. If you have ever tried purchasing petite maternity clothes, you have probably felt this frustration ten-fold. Even with all of the maternity options for pregnant women it can still be difficult to find pregnancy clothes specifically designed with petite women in mind. There are so many stores and options out there which actually carry a petite size in maternity clothing, but very few of these stores specialize in petite pregnancy clothes. Fortunately for the petite-framed pregnant woman, there are a lot more options on the market today. The following is a petite style guide for pregnant women, so they know whether or not, and why they should buy petite maternity clothing.

The difference between petite maternity clothes and regular pregnancy clothes are the length. Petite maternity clothes will have a shorter length, torso, and arm measurement to accommodate a shorter-statured woman. Some petite pregnancy clothing will also have a more narrow shoulder measurement and some will not. Make sure you try on any petite maternity top or jacket before you make a purchase to determine if the shoulders fit properly. Really well designed petite clothes will be more than the scaled down version of regular clothes. They will be designed with the petite woman and pregnant frame in mind by choosing styles designed to flatter a petite frame. Good designers will use smaller patterns, accessories, and embellishments to give petite pregnant women a longer, sleeker looking frame. They should also have scaled down collars, lapels, and prints to avoid looking overwhelming.
